In 27th of August 2026 ICEYE and The Water Institute teamed up in a strategic partnership combining the institute's predictive flood intelligence platform, FloodID, with ICEYE's space intelligence, expanding the company's flood intelligence capabilities for emergency management organizations in the US, governments and re/insurers.
FloodID developed by the Water Institute combines physics-based hydrologic modeling, artificial intelligence based on physics, cloud computing and Earth observation data to enable organizations to prepare on how flood events will possibly evolve from onset through recession. ICEYE's existing flood intelligence solutions get expanded through this partnership with the add-on of new predictive modeling capabilities while enabling ICEYE to refine even further its leadership in satellite-based flood observation and early warning.
ICEYE's Flood Early Warning solution is capable of providing 96 hours of advanced notice through the combination of global meteorological forecasts, basin susceptibility data and historical Earth observation insights to warn agencies, re/insurers, government organizations etc., to prepare before flooding begins. During the active flood phenomenon, ICEYE's satellite constellation monitors the event and sends near-real time data through heavy rain, cloudy/foggy weather and darkness since SAR can penetrate through these conditions, enabling Flood Rapid impact and Flood Insights products that require observed flood extent, building-level damage and water depth within hours of the natural disaster.
